The Ultimate Crossover: L4D, Resident Evil, Space Marines, etc!

"I'm not gonna make it!" Louis stammered, as he limped painfully, supported by Francis. His left ankle was swollen and it hurt like hell, after a Smoker dragged him along the road for several meters before Francis rescued him.

"Yes you are, now shut up and keep shooting!" Francis fired a round from his shot gun, blowing 2 infected to bloody chunks of flesh, as they struggled to get to a safe house.

Zoe and Bill were ahead, blasting a pathway through the hordes of infected, blowing them away with hand guns and carbines, but careful to conserve ammunition, which was relatively difficult to come by. Bill mentally counted every shot fired from his carbine, knowing that every head shot mattered, as he felt the weight of his remaining 2 ammo clips in his pouch. Zoe fired more freely, as her dual hand guns had a large supply of ammuniton, as she kept a few boxes of hand gun rounds in her backpack and jacket pockets, which would make up maybe 500 rounds, since one small box contained 20 bullets. Still, she tried to go for headshots to conserve ammo for the rest of the team, since they all took the 7 mm hand gun rounds from her.

The 4 of them had been running and gunning for the past 3 days, heading toward Mercy Hospital. None of them knew if there was any more un-infected humans left in the city since the terrible incident of the Umbrella Corporation a week ago. An explosion at the Umbrella's Research Laboratories spread a virus known only to employees of Umbrella as the T-virus. Civilians panicked and rushed to get away from the vicinity of the explosion, and ambulances, fire fighters and police rushed to the Labs to try to rescue survivors.. Turning into the first batch of infected themselves, as the airborne virus was breathed in by them.

The blast propelled the dangerous T-virus over a raduis of 2 miles, and soon every person within that radius had become infected to a certain extent. Most became mindless, bloodthirsty zombies, but a few became mutated creatures which hunted and craved for more survivors.

The local police and security forces were ill-equipped to deal with such a situation. They tried cordoning off 10 city blocks to prevent the infected from spreading out, but their barricades could not hold against the onslaught of thousands of infected who rushed out from the buildings to attack any living humans. The mayor panicked and quickly arranged for an evacuation for himself, and called in the army to assist the local law enforcers.

Tanks, 5 ton trucks carrying troops, APCs and light attack vehicles soon filled the streets, supported by a few helicopters and fighter planes which made a few carpet bombings to clear the streets for the ground troops to move in. Street fighting broke out everywhere, with civilians taking the law into their own hands, mixing it up with the army, police and infected.

To make matters worse, the mutated infected wreacked havock in the city, destroying military vehicles and killing scores of troopers. Infected Tanks, hugely muscled monstrous zombies, easily flipped the army tanks over, and pounded the trucks aside. Smokers strangled helpless victims, as hunters pounced on others and slashed them to ribbons. Lickers, a sort of combination of a smoker and hunter, ran along walls and took out soldiers along the flanks, while Nemesis zombies similar in bulk to the Tanks, with huge eyes on their shoulders, simply smashed their way through the military defences, feeling no pain from the dozens of bullets striking them. Even domesticated animals like dogs became infected, and grew in size and ferocity. Giant alligators emerged from the city's sewers, chomping their way through helpless civilians or soldiers alike.

"Come on, wake up!" Francis slapped Louis again, this time the sting really woke Louis up. He must have lost conciousness and dreamt about the events of the past week again. Louis found his ankle wrapped up and his cuts and bruises patched up with bandages.

"We were lucky enough to find you." A lady in military fatigues smiled as she spoke. Behind her stood a few more armed personnel, dressed in miliary fatigues like the woman who spoke to him. "My name is Alice. Pleased to meet you! We've been searching for survivors since this whole incident started, but have no managed to find any.. until we came across you guys."

"We would've made it out ourselves anyhow.." Bill grumbled. He wasn't used to being rescued by women, not matter how biologically superior they may be. "So whats the plan now? We were headed to Mercy Hospital, there was a radio broadcast saying that there was some helicopters which would evacuate survivors on a daily basis. You guys gonna join us?"

"We have our orders.. we can't leave the city yet. We've got to secure some.. articles." A muscular blonde tough guy spoke. He seemed to have the highest rank of a 1st sergeant, but his stern face looked intimidating enough. His army fatigue had the name "Nickolai" on it. "Marcos! How is that policewoman doing?" He turned his attention elsewhere, apparently another person was injured.

Marcos answered, "She's doing fine sergeant! The blow from the Nemesis must have stunned her for awhile, but she's up and getting her weapons again. She's a persistent one, thats for damn sure.. Jill, give it a break! You're going to get yourself killed out there alone!"

Bill looked angry, "Your orders? You mean the military has other objectives besides rescueing survivors?? I should've known those top brass had something to do with this horrible mess!" A war veteran, Bill knew the politics and forces at play were far more sinister than he could imagine. He had enough of a lifetime of fighting during the Iraqi war, and thought his shooting days were behind him.. until this happened.

Jill Valentime glared at Nickolai as well and nodded. "Yes..especially when the top brass is being sponsored by Umbrealla Corporation!"

Alice looked at Jill in bewilderment. "Are you sure about this?"

Nickolai shouted, "Everyone shut up! We saved your sorry butts out there so just shut up alright? We've got to find this device and bring it back with us, that's all! Without Umbrella, you wouldn't even be here in the first place!"

The roar of a nearby hunter broke the tension in the room they were in. And hunters never worked alone.
