End of Days 8 - The Offensive Part 1

The Offensive Part 1 - Stock check!

Finally, all the players in the game were in the same place at the same time. We've followed our heroes from the very moment the magnetic shock waves struck the earth, right till the last vehicle, Vash's beloved Lexus convertible, pulled into the driveway of the church. This is where the battle will take place. This is were blood will be shed. This is will be one of mankind's greatest fight for survival, the right to live on, the flag of humanity will fly proudly until eternity.

They had the machines for the battle.

Dead Reckoning, the huge monster-like container truck, fitted with 2 gattling machine guns, a short range flame thrower, and 6 surface-to-air missiles (which can be used at any time to target land objects too, by the way!) reloadable with more than 18 missiles in reserve. It was all covered in thick armour with spikes protruding out on all sides, chainsaws at the sides ready to rip attackers to shreds. Its interior is full of computers, able to link with the 6 Mech Warriors and stage automated combat if neccessary.

Gloria's Landrover, the Batmibile lookalike. Also fully armoured, but not armed with any guns. Of course, the rover can go up to 160 km/h in mere seconds, and had a "jump" ability to leap across bridges or roofs, or in this case, to squash zombies like bugs. And the passengers could always wind down the windows to fire their rifles.

And of course, the 6 Mech Warriors. These machines stood at over 5 meters tall, with legs so broad and powerful they could crush a car with just one stomp. Not that a car could get anywhere near it if the operator didn't want it to. Jet packs on its back enabled it to leap up to 20 meters in the air, and land up to 50 meters away. Now for the best part, its armoury. Its 2 "arms" were actually modified 15 mm anti-aircraft guns. For those who have no idea about ammunition, a standard carbine or M-16 rifle uses 5.56 mm bullets, which is about the size of a grown man's last finger. An AK-47 or GPMP machine gun uses 7.62 mm bullets, about the size of the index finger. Snipers use 10 mm bullets, each about the lenght of a dart, only thicker. 15 mm bullets are about as long as 2 of those big thick marker pens, but bigger. One shot and it can pass through about 5 humans or more, busting their guts open. And besides the guns, each arm has a mechanical claw, which can be used to pick things up, throw things around, or just cut things into pieces. Atop its turret is another GPMG General Purpose Machine Gun, which can be used by another operator, to shoot any attackers coming from the rear. 2 Anti-tank Launchers are also available for use. And finally, packing the most punch in this machine is its legs. The top section when uncovered carries 24 short range (100 m) incendiary grenades per leg. The firepower is enough to level a small building.

Let's leave the beautiful Spyder and Lexus out of this. They're way too sleek and expensive to be used. NOT!!

The Spyder and Lexus, which belong to Vash, both have tons of secret weapons, but they shall only be used as a desperate last resort. (Vash won't be too thrilled to have zombie blood on the flawless paint-job of those cars!)

They also had awesome weaponary for the ground troops who unfortunately wouldn't be able to operator those kick@$$ machines. (Of course, they can always climb on when the original operators are somehow immobile.. or dead.)

20 standard issue M-16 rifles fitted with M203 grenade launchers, comes with 6 ammunition cartridges per rifle, and 6 M203 grenades. Only for the noobs. (How're ya gonna fight hordes of undead zombies with normal weaponary?)

1 Arctic Warfare Magnum 10mm Sniper Rifle. Customized for Turtle Teo's use. Comes with only 150 bullets, only used to take down more powerful opponents (as will emerge later in the story.)

1 Plasma Rifle with 10 Canisters, each containing about 50 plasma charges. Customized for Swen King's use, based on a weapon in Doom.

3 GPMP machine guns, for those who like heavy fire power but with less accuracy, comes with 3 boxes of ammunition, each containing 200 rounds.

2 double barrel shotguns, non-automatic. One shot and the pellets spread out knocking anything within 20 meters into smithereens. Limited at 100 shells per shotgun.

1 BFG (Big Fat Gun) customized for Bourne Kiatz. One shot is a compressed plasma-nuclear explosion, capable of splitting a truck in half, and the plasma travels for up to 25 meters, melting anything in its path. However, due to its instability and dangerous possibility of malfunction, only 20 rounds were created.

40 kevlar suits and helmets.

50 fragmentation grenades, 20 incendiary grenades, and 20 anti-personnel remote controlled mines. These are standard military issued ammunition for defence rather than assault.

With just these equipment, the KORP could easily invade any small country and conquer it in mere minutes. However, that was just in the simulation chambers. Now, these machines would be tested in the battlefield for the very 1st time, to prove their worth and to really exterminate the zombies with extreme prejudice.
